To expand and develop its existing leadership programs for Birthright Israel alumni, enabling participants to take a more active role in their communities upon their return.

UJA’s Community Connect LEADERSHIP cultivates emerging Jewish leaders as role models and informal Jewish educators within the Toronto Jewish community. LEADERSHIP volunteers stem from Community Connect’s Madrichim in Training (MIT) program, a comprehensive leadership development initiative for young adults to develop their community leadership skills and prepare to staff Taglit-Birthright Israel: Canada Israel Experience trips. Leaders are also help transition their participants’ Jewish experience from Israel to their home community.
